Words and Music

Horn

I began playing the horn at age 10, and I studied with some outstanding teachers, including:

  • David Kamminga, Minnesota Orchestra
  • David Ohanian, Boston Symphony
  • Phil Myers, New York Philharmonic

Health issues forced an extended sabbatical from the horn, but I began playing again in 2010. Since then, I have had the opportunity to play with concert bands, chamber orchestras, horn ensembles, and symphonies. I have also played for church services.

If you need a horn player to fill an empty chair for a concert, to play along with your church choir, or to perform celebratory music for your wedding, commitment ceremony, or other festive event, please contact me.

Please visit my YouTube Channel. There, you can listen to and watch two examples of my solo (and with chorus) playing.

Thank you for your wonderful playing at our Easter service! I received many compliments from people in the congregation who really enjoyed the music. I hope we can do it again sometime!
–Judith M., St. Paul’s UCC Director of Music

Note: I am not a high-horn player! If you need a horn player for Brandenburg #1 or similar, I can refer you to others I know.
